HIPPOJOMO...I don't feel flattered

In 1995, I decided to pay tribute to my favorite motorcycle, the CYCLONE, by integrating part of the 1915 sales brochure cover right into my logo. One of the things I left out was the cyclone dust cloud. Sean must of felt it was stronger with it left intact. Now I know why he avoided me at Rin Tanaka's 'Inspiration' gathering in Santa Monica.

  2. ..i would just chock it up to the fact that mockery is really just flattery, your craft and all the things that go along with it are incredible..sooo..people will copy..its sad that they are trying to market it though..the people that matter will know the difference and they are who matters..and isnt that place just a t-shirt shop posing as a motorcycle shop..using an old name..isee a trend..keep doin yer thing mr decker..and at least i will enjoy it here in the motor mitten..

  3. Why is it when I click on a pic on this blog, all I get is the same size pic? What's the point of the link for the pic if it doesn't enlarge the pic?

  4. I think they took it down, cause its not there now. It is pretty lame that they have a "history" section, talking about a bike shop, and all they do is sell fake vintage shirts. The other shitty thing is that their "news" section is just celebs shown wearing the aforementioned shitty 'vintage' shirts.

  5. Hi Jeff!
My name is Csaba, I am a biker from Hungary, Europe. I would like to get connection with you for two reasons. Firstly, I am charged with a Hungarian motorcycle magazine, the „ Wild Magazin”. If you agree I would like to make an interview with you, to introduce you, and share your works with the hungarian readers. Secondly: I am working on the same field. I am using the bronze to make specially for bikers belt buckles, sculptures, accesories for motorcycles. For example one of my order was made to hungarian 81.
I would like to ask you to give me an e-mail adress, where I could send you a longer letter.

    Regards: Csaba

  7. Thats weak- I felt the same way with Von Dutch's skull for Ed Roth (search and destroy). I wanted to pay tribute by associating the skull with the title(by hand and by brain). For me the statement is 'these are my partners in crime' we participate in the same thought process and bring it to the table-this attitude towards our precidents would not deter from its generation or history.
    'Yesterdays respect today'.

  9. There is something inauthentic about this type of shirt/belt/hat/cup ect.apparel. It's really showing devotion to a screenprinter. Nothing against screenprinters but if I'm going to pay 20$ to advertise for you, you'd better bring something substantial to the table. On that note, if you would get your Hippodrome store open, I'll gladly send you some loot for a shirt.

  10. After looking through your blog you seem to get pretty upset that people are "stealing" your ideas. Kind of like you stole them in the first place.
