FREE JEFF DECKER

I think this started floating around about the time the "STOLEN BRONZE" was in the news.
Funny.
I have just gotten home from Sturgis & trying to relax, yet life is flying by.
This silly blog is the closest I have to a journal, & I forget too much.
I have a lot to catch up, yet need a little FREE time.
I am told so often how lucky I am, to go to Sturgis each year, & I suppose I shouldn't take it for granted... yet I liken it unto a circus, If you are kid going there it is great, if you are the clown(me) you see it from a different perspective.

This slogan hit home this

  1. I can only imagine what it takes to get all that art and motorcycles moved to a display area. If it was me I would be sweating bullets just getting it loaded in the trucks, and all the men involved who could take a wrong footing and drop a piece...I hope it all servived without any damage. I use to move machinery for a living so I know what's envolved, except we didn't have to worry about scratching or things being fragile. If a mill falls over there may be no damage at all, but I'm sure that's not the case with those large bronzes, it's gotta be crazy stressfull.

  2. A well deserved rest!

I am sure you, your crew and Michael's efforts were very much appreciated and the high point of the trip for thousands of visitors - from the pics I have seen looked to be a world class and inspirational display -;0)

  5. I'm glad to hear you are getting some time to relax, and glad to hear you are still going out to Sturgis. I met you there in '08; you had the display alongside Bling's and the guys from Indian Larry, and across the street from the Baker Drivetrain people. You were one of the few bright spots for me in a sea of chrome doo-dads and hoo-hahs. It was great talking with you, looking at your work (got to see the Rollie Free piece in person), and you even gave me one of your Hippodrome Studio B&W photo books. Thanks again!
