This requires some explaining.
My studio is on the west side of old hwy 89 & my wife's restaurant on the east side. The lines for the crosswalks have years ago faded, & people in my town would sooner run you down than 'yield to a pedestrian'.
I found this little stroller & doll at the dump & use her as my Crossing guard.
From the sidewalk I take an about face & without looking head into the hwy knowing my life may be in danger but my baby's is not. People love babies & always yield. When my friends Vincenzo & Tiziana from Latina, Italy were visiting last summer I pulled out 'little Lucy' to walk them safely to lunch. It struck them as strange & funny... & it dawned on me, maybe I am, a little off.
A little off?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so.
It's brilliant!!
I keep threatening to get a stock pile of life-like baby dolls to toss out the window at tailgaters.
Just once I want to hear someone yell, "Oh my God!! They're throwing babies!!" and mean it.
I agree with Richie. As I told you we found it funny and smart. And it turned out to be a good idea when I set aside my usual shyness and took that picture. Tiziana.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo if your t-shirt had read "I forced them to yield".
ReplyDeleteOnce a creative person, always a creative person. Great idea. I like it a lot.
