A cop out you say... absolutely!
I realize, of the 70 signed up 50 will show. The winners are going to be the finishers. Really the winners are the participants, even the bikes or bodies that break in the first few days. Everyboy involved in this hair brained scheme is a champ. I have learned a lot about these teens machines & have come to realize... the lying, cheating, & brotherhood are going to be the most valuable part of this race, not the silly trophy!
so what is this race all about? I have never heard of it, but I'm a n00b

Another beautiful work and a very grand prize!
ReplyDeleteI have been one of many that have vicarious joined the race and tried to follow all the prep work that has been blogged, written, pictured, posted by all those taking part.
ReplyDeleteI have also looked forward to the reveal of the award, and it is wonderful.
Good luck to all those that set out, and an advance congratulations to the one that will be able to bring this great work home.
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteYour trophy is a (another) masterpiece. Don't bail out before Albuquerque. I am coming to see whoever makes it that far. I would be riding with you, but my 1938 flathead 74" is much too modern!
That sculpture is really, really nice. How tall is it? The proportions and the details are great. You even included the leather straps on his puttees!
ReplyDeleteSee you in Kitty Hawk.
Pete

ReplyDeleteThe 1st Trophy I have ever wanted... The carrot on a string to keep us moving west.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece of work, god luck with the race.
